Zenlayer and Equinix partner to simplify edge deployment in Hong Kong

Hyperconnected cloud company Zenlayer and Equinix have partnered to offer solutions that streamline infrastructure deployment and ensure compliance with local regulations in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong is a major international finance hub with a strategic location and robust infrastructure, attracting significant foreign investments. In 2023, Hong Kong received approximately $112.7 billion in Foreign Direct Investments, making it the fourth-largest recipient globally.

The city has a high concentration of enterprises and IT service providers, ranking as the second biggest science and technology cluster worldwide.

Challenges for businesses include regulatory complexities, unreliable cross-border connectivity, scalability issues, and supply chain slowdowns.

There are also some key advantages for businesses including access to Asian markets, proximity to Greater China, and a high network density for telecommunications.

Equinix operates 268 data centers globally certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to facilitate data compliance globally. Zenlayer’s sizable presence with nearly 200 points of presence (PoPs) throughout the Asia-Pacific region enables enterprises to host critical data wherever they serve customers to comply with data localization initiatives.

The combined services of both companies provide extensive connectivity, rapid deployment capabilities, and a rich ecosystem of integrated service partners.

By eliminating physical infrastructure deployment, which usually takes three to six months, businesses can instantly access high-performance bare metal, VMs, and edge GPUs to deploy closer to users, drastically cutting latency and optimizing data processing for improved performance, accelerated resource access, and seamless digital experiences. Zenlayer is also already helping AI customers in Japan and Indonesia accelerate infrastructure expansion and seamlessly interconnect global AI clusters.

The partnership aims to help businesses overcome challenges and accelerate market entry in Hong Kong and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
