Zededa launches online edge computing education hub
As edge computing surges in application and investment, Zededa looks to serve as an educational nexus with its newly-launched Edge Academy with resources to learn about edge technology.
The Edge Academy consists of free online video tutorials and eLearning courses about the challenges of distributed edge computing and the tools that Zededa’s open orchestration framework offers to organizations that look to transform their operations with edge solutions. Some examples of educational material include how-to-videos on Zededa’s edge orchestration solution and EVE-OS, and recorded sessions from Zededa Transform, an annual conference to discuss edge computing and IoT.
“We understand offering a blended approach of educational resources to our customers and partners is key to their long-term success in distributed edge node orchestration,” says Kevin Freitas, senior director of learning and Edge Academy. “We’re excited to announce Edge Academy as another key learning resource for personnel responsible for centralized secure device management and application orchestration at the edge through the Zededa solution.”
A market report titled, ‘Edge Computing Landscape 2021,’ from EMC Research sponsored by Zededa, found that 77 percent of respondents expect to increase spending on edge computing projects in 2022 and that 74 percent anticipate that rise in spending to be up to 25 percent.
Said Ouissal, founder and CEO of Zededa, says, “As the leader in making edge computing effortless and intrinsically secure, we believe we should make edge computing accessible to everyone, and the academy will help people prepare for the next era of computing in IT infrastructure.”
Edge Academy will continue alongside the Zededa Help Center, which hosts technical knowledge base articles for secure edge computing projects.
Companies like Microsoft and Intel have edge computing learning hubs, though without video.
