Zayo delivers new edge network services for digital transformation solutions
Zayo Group, a communications infrastructure platform provider, has launched a new portfolio of edge network solutions. The company’s edge network solutions are designed for enterprises and large platforms to enhance their digital transformation journey or adopt emerging technologies, executives said.
According to the company, Zayo’s new portfolio of Edge Network Solutions, built on the company’s existing network and cloud connectivity solutions, is now enhanced after acquiring QOS Networks earlier this year. The expanded portfolio addresses the growing demand for flexible, adaptable and cost-effective edge networking by providing robust and agile core-to-cloud linkages. The company reduces IT complexities for its customers so they can focus on their businesses.
“Multi-cloud network demand is the basis of Zayo’s Edge Network Solutions,” said Frank Cittadino, SVP of edge services at Zayo. “As industries continue to digitally transform, expand hybrid and remote work environments, and adopt emerging technologies, they need an agile and borderless network that fuels around-the-clock operations. Zayo has designed an edge solution to do just that.”
Zayo’s edge network solutions are said to improve performance by offering:
- SD-WAN and SASE — improve application performance by connecting users and the cloud with unified security and robust network technology.
- Unified Communication-as-a-Service that integrates voice, chat, meetings and video capabilities.
- Integrated security that includes zero trust, SASE, cloud access security broker, network firewall and distributed denial of service protection.
- Remote Access-as-a-Service which provides remote access to enterprise applications, regardless of where the apps are hosted.
“We knew that implementing edge solutions the traditional way was costly and time-consuming, but Zayo was able to design and manage a solution that was unique to our needs and provides all of the insight and information we need to ensure our network performance,” said Michael Braine, chief technology officer at Public Storage.
The zInsights Portal uses artificial intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps) to significantly reduce operational workload and improve incident outcomes, providing a complete solution necessary for optimizing digital experiences, the company claims.
Several partnerships back the new solution, including those with VMware, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Versa. In addition, Zayo also partnered with Cloudbrink to expand its low-latency network services.
Zayo invested more than $250 million this year to expand its worldwide fiber footprint. For instance, Zayo recently built a high-capacity dark fiber network in the Proximity Edge 4 colocation data center in Chester Gates. The primary purpose of this project was to expand Zayo’s current network of fiber connections for users.
