U.S. Navy deploys Armada’s mobile edge data center for tactical operations

Armada, an edge computing infrastructure company, announced the delivery of its Galleon deployable mobile edge data center to the U.S. Navy’s Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic under a cooperative research and development agreement (CRADA).

The Galleon will support advanced network management, command and control, and edge computing solutions for U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command / U.S. Fourth Fleet (C4F).

Armada will assist with testing, evaluation, and training to ensure optimal operation of the Galleon in challenging environments.

The partnership aims to enhance warfighter readiness and provide tactical advantages through advanced edge computing technologies.

“With Armada, we believe the Navy will gain a decisive edge in developing technology solutions that directly enhance warfighter readiness,” says Dan Wright, CEO of Armada. “Our mission is to fortify U.S. national security by delivering resilient computing and communications platforms that excel in the most challenging and unpredictable operational environments.”

The collaboration also highlights a shared commitment to technological innovation and operational excellence in support of national defense.

Armada specializes in edge solutions for industries like defense, oil & gas, and logistics, focusing on connectivity, compute, storage, and AI in remote locations. The announcement underscores the importance of private industry partnerships in advancing military technology and readiness.

Armada recently partnered with Avathon to bring AI-powered edge computing to remote industries.
