Tecno Buildings partners with Veea for edge functionality in mass transit pilot

Hyper-converged multi-access network provider Veea has joined forces with smart building solution provider Tecno Buildings to deploy Containerized Portable Niagara (CPN) software framework in a mass urban transit system.

Tecno Buildings utilized the Veea Edge Platform for the pilot program revolutionizing the collection of IoT data in a Latin American subway system.

“The Veea Edge Platform is living up to its stellar reputation for flexibility and ease of deployment in edge-based functionality,” said Alfredo Melnik, founder and general director of Tecno Buildings. “We’re delighted to have Veea as a strategic partner. Veea’s smart edge solutions reduce installation complexity and offer competitive advantages that we can share with our end customers. We look forward to many successful deployments in additional project rollouts.”

Veea’s offerings include edge-to-cloud computing and edge AI, and the firm worked with Tridium to develop CPN and is a leading Tridium partner deploying containerized Niagara at the network edge, which enables wireless connectivity in new and existing deployments.

The objective of the subway pilot program is to demonstrate that the combination of the Veea Edge Platform running CPN within a long-range wide area network (LoRaWAN) will reduce energy consumption costs while also providing proactive and predictive maintenance alerts for unplanned system downtime.
