Synopsys and SiMa.ai pair to advance power-efficient automotive edge AI
Synopsys and SiMa.ai have announced a strategic collaboration to enhance automotive edge AI solutions.
The partnership will accelerate the development of silicon and software for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and in-vehicle infotainment (IVI).
The solution will integrate Synopsys’ EDA tools and automotive-grade IP with SiMa.ai’s machine learning accelerator and software stack. Current software-defined vehicle architectures struggle to meet the demands of diverse AI applications, necessitating AI-ready, power-efficient solutions.
The alliance will enable early architecture exploration and shift-left software development for optimized performance and integration. The integrated solution will provide customizable, silicon-proven building blocks for high-performance automotive machine learning systems.
Continuous upgradeability will allow for the development of AI applications that meet both current and future automotive requirements.
“Collaborating closely with Synopsys allows us to provide automotive manufacturers with complete, optimized solutions that accelerate their development cycles,” says Krishna Rangasayee, Founder and CEO, SiMa.ai. “The SiMa.ai MLSoC platform was designed for best possible performance at lowest power consumption across a diverse set of applications—that was the missing piece in the puzzle to make future cars so much smarter and safer than what we have today. When combined with Synopsys’ industry-leading IP and software, we will deliver a powerful foundation for innovation across auto OEMs in autonomous driving and in-vehicle experiences.”
Both companies aim to modernize hardware/software co-design processes for automotive manufacturers, enhancing in-car experiences.
Synopsys and SiMa.ai will showcase their collaboration at CES 2025, highlighting innovations in automotive edge AI solutions.
