Sunlight.io, Litmus collaborate to help enterprises scale Industrial IoT systems
At the Edge Computing Expo in Santa Clara, California, Sunlight.io, an edge infrastructure company, and Litmus.io, an edge data platform for Industry 4.0, announced a collaboration to simplify how companies deploy Industrial IoT at scale.
The Sunlight Hyperconverged Edge is a secure, reliable and zero-touch infrastructure. It obtains real-time insights and actions from critical edge information across retail environments, factories and smart cities. The Hyperconverged Edge platform of Sunlight is built on the Sunlight NexVisor Hypervisor, a Type 1 Hypervisor designed to support high-performance hardware technologies with very little overhead.
“We created the Sunlight Hyperconverged Edge Infrastructure and Infrastructure Manager to solve a real problem that we are seeing at the far edge,” stated Sunlight founder & CEO, Julian Chesterfield. “Leading hyper-converged infrastructure products in the market were built for the data center where space, cooling and power resources are plenty. But this is not the case in industrial factory environments at the edge. Partnering with Litmus means that our customers not only gain an efficient, reliable, secure and economic infrastructure but a complete platform for all of their edge data requirements.”
Litmus Edge is an Industrial IoT platform that combines data collection, machine analytics, enterprise integration and application enablement. Litmus says it taps into the value of industrial data via condition-based monitoring, predictive maintenance, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Additionally, it offers access to a wealth of data resources that can provide valuable insights into edge devices and across the enterprise.
“Litmus Edge is rapid-to-deploy and scales easily, providing customers with everything they need to collect their OT data and put it to work to improve operations,” said John Younes, co-founder and COO of Litmus. “This partnership with Sunlight allows us to meet the needs of the Industrial IoT market with a platform that enables use cases like condition-based monitoring, predictive maintenance, OEE improvement, machine learning and AI, at scale.”
In January 2022, Sunlight.io joined forces with North Africa’s Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider Safozi. The goal of the partnership was to provide and support high-performance private cloud services to media and financial service clients in countries in Northern Africa.
In 2021, Sunlight also announced a collaboration with Hivecell that allowed businesses to bring any cloud-native or legacy applications to the edge with a turnkey, “as-a-service” offering. With the Hivecell platform and Sunlight’s hyper-converged infrastructure stack (HCI) specifically designed for the edge, applications could run at the edge much more efficiently. They achieved this goal by combining purpose-built hardware, resource-efficient software, and centralized edge management solutions.
