StormForge releases Optimize Live ML-powered automation of Kubernetes resource efficiency
StormForge, which builds AI-powered software products, has introduced StormForge Optimize Live which the company said automates Kubernetes resource efficiency. Given the widespread use of Kubernetes in edge environments, automation of resource usage is a key need for edge application developers.
Enterprises that have adopted cloud-native technologies are finding that they can receive a huge volume of data; getting insights for enhanced application performance from that data isn’t easy. All the existing observability tools have limited capabilities to make decisions based on the data collected. That can result in inefficient applications that result in additional cloud costs and lost productivity for every application.

Optimize Live utilizes existing observability data by applying machine learning to recommend real-time configuration changes that reduce resource usage and cost while maintaining performance. The software aims to reduce the risk involved in poorly performing applications by reducing the time invested in tuning the Kubernetes environment. The company said its software is able to learn from historical usage and performance metrics to deliver an intelligent and automated response in maintaining Kubernetes efficiency in production.
The software is specifically built to optimize the Kubernetes stack, including the applications, pod and container. The software supports any Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) certified distribution. Optimize Live exploits the existing StormForge platform with common user management, SSO, RBAC, release automation and many more features.
Sometimes the software recommends optimization changes that do not fit the application’s needs and requires manual approval for the suggestions. Optimize Live offers the flexibility to set auto and manual approval for recommendations by namespace. Additionally, StormForge Optimize Live is a part of the complete Kubernetes optimization platform which also includes StormForge Optimize Pro and StormForge performance testing.
