StorMagic launches edge control software to streamline SvSAN monitoring & management
StorMagic, a provider of storage and security solutions for organizations with edge infrastructure, has announced the availability of a Software as a Service (SaaS) tool known as StorMagic Edge Control.
According to the company, the software simplifies the monitoring and management of SvSAN clusters worldwide, providing a centralized platform for administrators.
Edge Control version 1.0 is available for download for all SvSAN customers, and StorMagic has made the software free.
ESG research indicates a growing need for monitoring solutions that can handle the complexity of edge storage, driven by the increasing demand for data storage at the edge.
Scott Sinclair, the practice director at Enterprise Strategy Group, suggests that adding StorMagic Edge Control to the toolkit can greatly benefit SvSAN customers.
“The dashboard views and list formats will make centralized data management much easier and more accessible,” comments Sinclair.
StorMagic says that Edge Control is an ideal solution for companies of various sizes and industries. The company adds that the solution simplifies site administration, enables remote management for resellers, and streamlines the management of multiple SvSAN clusters for larger companies.
According to Bruce Kornfeld, the chief marketing and product officer at StorMagic, customers of any size can now manage their entire SvSAN estate, whether it consists of one site or multiple sites worldwide.
“Edge Control is particularly interesting for customers who are considering switching from VMware to Microsoft or Linux KVM because SvSAN and Edge Control are both hypervisor agnostic,” adds Kornfeld.
In 2021, StorMagic and Hivecell introduced Hivecell HCI with StorMagic SvSAN, an enterprise-scale edge computing solution.
The companies say this joint solution addresses challenges in deploying, managing and maintaining multiple sites, with executives adding that Hivecell HCI overcomes limitations such as limited IT infrastructure, lack of onsite technical staff and system upgrades at the edge.
