Spirae and Lanner unite edge computing and DER management to boost grid reliability

Spirae and Lanner Electronics are collaborating to showcase advanced grid-edge technologies.

The partnership integrates Spirae’s Distributed Energy Resource (DER) management software with Lanner’s edge computing hardware to optimize grid performance and energy efficiency.

The combined solution enables real-time data processing at the grid edge, reducing latency and improving decision-making for utilities. It supports renewable energy integration, microgrid optimization, and energy dispatch, addressing the complexities of decentralized energy systems.

Spirae’s Wave software platform offers vendor-agnostic DER management, energy storage, and microgrid support, with applications worldwide.

Lanner Electronics provides rugged, scalable edge computing solutions, including its next-gen Virtual Protection, Automation, and Control (vPAC) server platform.

At DistribuTECH in March, Spirae demonstrated a co-simulation environment developed with NREL to showcase DER coordination for solving utility challenges.
