SiMa.ai unveils Modalix SoM for edge AI acceleration

SiMa.ai, a software-centric embedded edge AI solution provider announced its first system-on-module (SoM) featuring the MLSoC Modalix 50 TOPS device, developed in collaboration with Enclustra, to accelerate multi-modal and generative AI applications at the edge.
The new SoM is compatible with leading GPU SoM providers, enabling seamless integration, reducing development time, and simplifying adoption for edge AI systems.
It boasts competitive performance per watt, with 50 TOPS of computing power optimized for edge AI workloads, and supports applications such as robotics, industrial automation, and unmanned aerial systems.
SiMa.ai’s Palette software suite and ONE Platform for Edge AI enable accelerated development and deployment, supporting open standards like Python, PyTorch, and OpenCV.
“The introduction of our Modalix SoM represents a critical expansion that addresses the diverse needs of the fragmented edge AI market,” says Krishna Rangasayee, CEO and founder of SiMa.ai. “Our partnership with Enclustra is removing integration barriers that typically slow companies down, making it remarkably simple for companies to upgrade from legacy edge compute solutions to Modalix’s superior performance.”
The SoM features advanced thermal management, real-time performance monitoring, and scalability for both commercial and industrial environments.
The collaboration with Enclustra combines expertise in FPGA and SoM development with SiMa.ai’s MLSoC technology, delivering a compact, scalable, and energy-efficient solution. Customers can register for priority access to engineering samples through an Early Access Program.
