Seoul Robotics develops 3D perception tech to boost transportation systems
Seoul Robotics has released an enhanced tool called QuickConnect which utilizes 3D data from sensors to improve its 3D perception technology. This enhancement can be used in intelligent transport systems that can detect events and provide statistical insights, the company says.
The QuickConnect solution uses the patented perception platform Sensr to simplify the coding and deployment of technology, eliminating the need for extensive expertise. This allows organizations to use real-time 3D data to make informed strategic decisions effectively.
Data analysis from 3D sensors can help companies with detailed analytics and information on various parameters, including location, velocity, and vehicle types. The statistical modules cover specific events such as pedestrian jaywalking, speeding and traffic congestion, among other traffic incidents.
“The world around us continues to become more complex and requires technology that can analyze all of its intricacies. 3D perception is that technology, but it has historically exemplified the expression that nothing worth having comes easy — until now,” says William Muller, the vice president of business development at Seoul Robotics.
Seoul Robotics offers QuickConnect software solutions through Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), allowing easy integration with third-party applications. This technology enables the solution to exchange 3D sensor data with other software components, ensuring an uninterrupted flow of valuable insights.
The Sensr 3.0 suite now includes QuickConnect, a feature that aims to make it easier to use 3D perception technology. Alongside QuickConnect, the suite comprises additional functionalities such as QuickTune and QuickSite. The company says that QuickTune serves as a valuable tool for sensor calibration, providing snap-to-point functionality. Further, the QuickSite simulation tool allows customers to design and scale 3D systems virtually.
“With QuickConnect, we’re making it simple for organizations to capitalize on the advancements in 3D perception to improve mobility, safety, and sustainability to ultimately drive impactful, real-world change,” Muller continues.
Seoul Robotics has also recently introduced an intersection traffic solution that leverages 3D sensor data to generate actionable insights for traffic controllers. This solution gathers and analyzes data using Sensr-I technology, employing deep learning AI algorithms to track, detect and identify various entities such as vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians.
