Section, StackPath add new talent to scale up edge ecosystems; Scale Computing CEO recognized
A number of companies have recently hired new talent to step up their efforts in strengthening edge ecosystems. In the edge platform and content delivery space, Section has appointed Deborah Diaz to its Board of Directors while StackPath hired Tom Reyes as Chief Transformation Officer. Also, Scale Computing’s CEO Jeff Ready was mentioned in CRN’s Top 100 Executives list.
Section appoints Deborah Diaz to Board of Directors
Section made the announcement of a new member for their Board in a blog post last month.
Diaz is currently CEO of Catalyst ADV, a technology and strategic growth advisory firm. Diaz has over 30 years of leadership experience in large-scale business transformation.
Before founding Catalyst ADV, Diaz served as NASA’s Chief Technology Officer and Deputy Chief Information Officer, and as CIO for Science and Technology at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
By appointing Diaz to its Board of Directors, Section aims to improve the efficiency and security of its edge ecosystem.
“We are honored to welcome Deborah,” commented Stewart McGrath, Co-Founder & CEO of Section in a press release.
“The emerging Edge ecosystem is still early in its maturity, and Deborah’s commercialization experience in steering technology innovation and business growth as both an IT leader and board director makes her a tremendous value-add for our organization, customers, and industry as a whole.”
“I am excited to be joining Section’s Board of Directors working directly with their leadership team to advance their competitive Edge technology and business growth,” she said in a statement.
Scale Computing’s CEO recognized in CRN Top 100 Executives list
CRN, a brand of The Channel Company, has included Scale Computing’s CEO Jeff Ready in its 2021 Top 100 Executives list.
Ranking among the Top 25 Innovators, Ready was recognized by CRN for its efforts in leading Scale Computing to record sales and profitability in 2020 despite the pandemic’s negative effects on the market.
“Innovation drives everything we do at Scale Computing, from our highly available, scalable, and easy to use solutions to the nature of our partner relationships,” Ready said, commenting on the news. Scale has announced partnerships to reach markets such as Japan, for instance.
“Ultimately, we seek to leverage innovation to solve customer problems [and] nowhere is that more evident than on the new frontier of edge computing,” he added.
According to Ready, the edge is not just a small version of a data center, but a unique and challenging environment whose potential can be unlocked only through new technologies.
“We are very proud of the innovations we’ve made in technology, products, and partnerships that have established us as a leader with solutions that unify the edge and the data center, for enterprises of all sizes today,” Ready concluded.
StackPath hires Tom Reyes as Chief Transformation Officer
Making the announcement on Linkedin last week, StackPath said Tom Reyes will now be responsible for the company’s product launches and releases, future strategic initiatives, and leading the Program Management Office.
Reyes has 20 years of industry experience across leadership roles in program management, product management, and business development.
StackPath’s new CTO has in the past worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, Boeing, the US Army, and Teradata.
He will now bring his expertise to Stack Path to lead the company’s efforts in edge cloud transformation.
