Scale Computing tackles data breaches with new campaign
Scale Computing, a provider of edge computing, virtualization and hyper-converged solutions, has launched a new campaign to assist IT leaders in building IT resilience. The campaign focuses on offering native, built-in data protection and disaster recovery capabilities.
According to IBM’s Cost of a Data Breach Report 2023, the average global cost of a data breach hit a record high of $4.45 million in 2023, marking a 15.3% rise from 2020.
Scale Computing Platform and its new Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Planning Service provide security and uptime to protect businesses from intentional and accidental incidents, the company notes. Organizations can establish a plan to respond to unforeseen downtime with a subscription-based model.
Jeff Ready, the CEO and co-founder of Scale Computing, notes that downtime, data loss and data corruption can have a significant and lasting impact on businesses, regardless of industry or size.
“It is imperative in today’s complex IT and security landscapes for companies to establish IT resilience,” he notes.
According to the company, the SC//Platform simplifies and enhances virtual machine infrastructure with high availability and scalability. Its patented HyperCore technology enables real-time identification, mitigation and correction of infrastructure issues for maximum application uptime.
In 2023, Scale Computing also introduced its Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BCDR) planning service.
The service helps organizations prepare for unexpected downtime by providing data backup and recovery tools and guidance. It aims to enable businesses to withstand disasters with minimal loss.
According to Ready, disaster can occur unexpectedly, and every organization must have a well-defined playbook outlining how the business will react. This includes action plans and recovery strategies to ensure the prompt restoration of mission-critical servers, he notes.
Scale Computing was also a finalist for the Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Project of the Year award in the 2023 SDC awards. The recognition is a result of its collaboration with GiGaNet, a managed service provider from Austria and the Zillertaler Gletscherbahn group.
