Scale Computing integrates HyperCore on Intel’s Enterprise Edge Compute platform
Scale Computing, an edge computing, virtualization and hyper-converged solutions provider, has partnered with Intel Corporation to integrate its HyperCore software into the Intel NUC enterprise edge compute platform (EEC). This combined solution, called Intel NUC Enterprise Edge Compute platform (EEC) Built with Scale Computing, will help enterprise customers monitor edge infrastructure and solve problems in real-time.
According to Scale Computing, demand for a real-time response for critical edge infrastructure drives computing power needs to be based on where it is best used, such as the network’s edge. The Intel NUC EEC was designed for sites that need dependable and scalable infrastructure outside the typical data center. Users can deploy the platform quickly without requiring a rack or server room. The companies say it essentially provides a fully functional solution for running applications like rolling upgrades, high availability clustering and integrated data protection.
“By combining the power of Intel NUC EEC with the simplicity and reliability of Scale Computing HyperCore software and the expansive channel of partners from Ingram Micro, we are providing organizations with an efficient, scalable and comprehensive edge computing solution that is your fastest path from pilot to production,” said Jeff Ready, CEO, and co-founder of Scale Computing.
The HyperCore corporate software runs on the same platform as cloud-native applications, supporting Windows and Linux virtual machines for general, industrial and IoT deployments.
“Intel, together with Ingram Micro and Scale Computing, make it easier for partners and customers to achieve faster time-to-market with lower cost-of-ownership over time for their edge computing deployments,” said Brian McCarson, vice president and general manager, NUC Group at Intel.
Scale Compute HyperCore software will come pre-installed on the Intel NUC EEC and commercially available for sale through Ingram Micro Integrated Solutions.
Scale Computing also announced cloud fleet management software to its edge platform earlier this year. The Fleet Manager is a cloud-native enterprise monitoring and management tool for edge computing and information technology infrastructure. As mentioned earlier, users can manage the joint solution through a unified Scale Computing Fleet Manager user interface. This process makes it simple for developers to run applications at the edge while reducing workloads for IT teams.
