Procore Technologies’ construction data feeds AWS IoT TwinMaker for building operations
Procore Technologies, a U.S.-based construction management software provider, has collaborated with Amazon Web Services to create a new value proposition by using construction data to accelerate the creation of digital twins. Through this partnership, the companies plan to integrate AWS IoT TwinMaker into the Procore platform, enabling data from the design and construction phase to be leveraged by operations.
The Procore platform connects all the construction stakeholders in the lifecycle to streamline communication and efficiently collaborate across teams and projects. The platform provides more than 300 integrations including services for accounting, analytics, CRM, IT, procurement, legal compliance, resource management, risk management, productivity, and more. Using the Procore platform with AWS IoT TwinMaker will enable customers to extend value from real-time data sources into operations.
“We’re very excited about our partnership with AWS. Roughly 80% of the lifecycle cost of a project is in the operations phase,” said Tiffany LaBruno, product director and owner at Procore. “With this partnership, we can leverage Procore’s course of construction data during that operations phase to help owners reduce costs, optimize performance, and be better prepared for future project needs.”
AWS IoT TwinMaker is used to create digital twins of real-world systems, such as buildings, factoring, and production lines. The software provides all the tools needed to build digital twins and helps organizations to optimize operational processes. The software is capable of using real-time data from multiple sources and creating a virtual representation of the physical system by combining existing 3D models.
Some of the use cases of AWS IoT TwinMaker are improving field operations in manufacturing plants, increasing equipment uptime in remote facilities (by a remote diagnosis of equipment issues to enable faster decision making), and enhancing tenant experience in the commercial building through monitoring air quality data in rooms and open spaces.
AWS recently announced the public availability of its AWS IoT TwinMaker, which was launched back in December 2021. The tool enables users to build digital twins of buildings, industrial equipment, factories, and other physical systems.
