OSS to supply rugged AI servers for autonomous maritime missions in Asia
One Stop Systems (OSS), a rugged AI-enabled solution provider, has received a $200,000 follow-on order from a leading Asian defense contractor for rugged servers used in autonomous maritime applications.
The order supports the contractor’s initiative to convert manned vessels into unmanned surface vessels (USVs) for autonomous missions.
Deliveries of the initial order are expected this quarter, with additional orders anticipated in 2025 and 2026.
“We believe that our rugged enterprise class compute solutions and experience are uniquely positioned to support this application,” remarked OSS CEO, Mike Knowles. “USVs are operating in harsh environments with high levels of ambient temperature, moisture, and corrosion, while requiring enterprise class compute power to operate autonomously, intelligently and safely.”
OSS will provide 8U of hardware for each USV, including rugged edge AI servers and redundant ethernet switches for data processing from over 30 cameras. The rugged systems are designed to operate reliably in high temperatures (over 40°C) and support computer vision and navigation systems.
OSS specializes in AI-enabled solutions for edge computing, catering to various industries including defense, autonomous trucking, and farming, emphasizing the importance of high-performance computing in harsh environments for autonomous operations.
OSS recently landed a $2M deal for high-density data center AI infrastructure.
