OnLogic releases new ThinManager-ready devices for industrial edge needs
OnLogic, a global industrial computer manufacturer, has announced the release of two new ThinManager-ready devices: the TM120 Industrial Zero Client and the TM710 Industrial Thin Client.
“Server-based computing provides a number of key benefits, particularly for organizations that need to support a large number of endpoints,” said Mike Walsh, senior product manager at OnLogic.
Both devices are compact fanless, solid-state PCs designed for reliability and come pre-configured with ThinManager software for easy plug-and-play deployment, the company says.
ThinManager is a software that has a centralized thin client and remote desktop server management platform. For industrial settings, it provides secure and centralized visualization and content delivery management.
To deploy, thin clients connect to a centralized server to access applications, memory, and the data that users require in corporate networks. The thin client device, often referred to as an endpoint, transmits the required information. Thin clients have little to no internal storage space, and zero clients get their name because they don’t contain any internal storage.
“Centralized application deployment and updating can drastically reduce IT costs,” added Walsh. “In addition, businesses can reduce security exposure by limiting access to sensitive data and software. Finally, using thin and zero clients enables powerful computing resources to be deployed across a company’s infrastructure at a comparatively low cost.”
The TM120 Industrial Zero Client is a compact, fanless zero client that can drive up to 4 independent displays. It features an Intel 11th Gen Core processor, 32 GB of memory, and support for DisplayPort, HDMI, 2x LAN, 4x USB-A (3.2 Gen 2), and 2x USB-C (3.2 Gen 2) connectivity. The TM120 has an operating temperature range of 0 to 50°C and dimensions of 142 x 62 x 107 mm.
The TM710 Industrial Thin Client is an ultra-compact, fanless thin client that is only slightly larger than a deck of cards. It features an Intel Celeron J3455 processor, 8 GB of memory, and support for 2x MiniDisplay, 2x LAN, and 3x USB-A (2x 3.2 Gen 1, 1x USB 2.0) connectivity. The TM710 has an operating temperature range of 0 to 40°C and dimensions of 82 x 34 x 115 mm.
OnLogic recently was recognized for its excellent customer service. In July 2022, the firm was selected as a Gold Vendor by VDC Research’s Iot & Embedded Technology Vendor Satisfaction Awards, which are held annually. The company also debuted other technology this year. For example, it debuted its CL250 ultra-small fanless edge computer earlier in 2022. The system, designed for industrial IoT and edge computing applications in difficult environments, was added to the company’s CL200 Series of industrial computers.
