OnLogic debuts ThinManager ready industrial thin client with Wi-Fi boot capability
OnLogic, an industrial computer manufacturer and solution provider, has launched the TM260 Industrial Thin Client. According to the company, this ThinManager Ready thin client has Wi-Fi boot capabilities and ThinManager Ready BIOS for easy setup.
OnLogic’s ThinManager Ready hardware is used in smart factory solutions, offering centralized management and support for up to three displays. With the ThinManager Wi-Fi boot feature, users can wirelessly boot systems.
ThinManager has also recently introduced support for mobile equipment like forklifts, robots and utility vehicles.
Kim Gonzalez, the ThinManager product manager from Rockwell Automation, says: “An industrial wireless thin client solution will expand opportunities for ThinManager deployment in places that have previously been difficult or impossible.”
Gonzalez continues that customers have expressed a need for this feature in applications requiring mobile visualization. The experience of visualization and management remains consistent with other ThinManager Ready terminals but now eliminates the need for physical cable connections to receive ThinManager firmware and terminal configurations, he adds.
The TM260 is a preconfigured thin client for ThinManager OS, built on OnLogic’s Helix 330 industrial computing platform. With Intel Celeron and Pentium processors, 1x or 2x 1GbE LAN ports and a fanless design, the company says it combines power and efficiency.
OnLogic’s ThinManager Ready thin clients undergo testing and certification for compatibility by ThinManager. OnLogic’s thin clients also come pre-loaded during assembly with the ThinManager Ready BIOS. Upon booting up, the system automatically downloads firmware from ThinManager and searches for ThinManager servers on the network.
According to Hunter Golden, the product manager at OnLogic, adding Wi-Fi boot functionality in ThinManager Version 13.2 allows customers to expand thin client usage in facilities straight out of the box.
OnLogic says it specializes in reliable and configurable computers for IoT edge applications. With offices in the U.S., the Netherlands, Taiwan and Malaysia, the company has delivered custom-built computers to over 70,000 customers.
In June, OnLogic introduced the Helix 511, a ruggedized edge computing solution with enhanced connectivity options for seamless integration with legacy infrastructure. Ideal for manufacturing, automation and energy management environments, it complies with multiple industry standards, the company notes.
