Nokia boosts industrial edge capabilities with AI, automation, and safety innovations

Nokia has expanded its industrial application portfolio with six new Industry 4.0 applications on the MX Industrial Edge (MXIE) platform, enhancing automation, efficiency, safety, security, and sustainability for industrial enterprises.
The new applications integrate advanced technologies such as AI, video analytics, machine automation, and environmental sensing, addressing challenges in asset-intensive industries such as ports, mining, and manufacturing.
Key applications include Prosys OPC UA Forge for data organization, Bosch Rexroth’s ctrlX OS for machine automation, SwitchON DeepInspect for AI-powered quality inspection, and Ipsotek VISuite for advanced video analytics.
“Enterprises require intelligent, secure, and scalable solutions to navigate the complexities of digital transformation and introduce use cases that will deliver concrete benefits,” says Stephan Litjens, vice president, Enterprise Campus Edge at Nokia. “The expansion of industrial applications deployed on MXIE underscores Nokia’s commitment to fostering an open and interoperable industrial edge ecosystem. With our expanded portfolio of industrial edge applications, we are enabling businesses to accelerate their digitalization journey while ensuring quality, safety and security, efficiency, and sustainability.” Additional solutions include SmartCone’s HeatGuardian for real-time worker safety monitoring and Nozomi Networks Platform for OT, IoT, and CPS security.
The MXIE platform provides a secure and scalable edge computing foundation, enabling enterprises to optimize operations, enhance safety, and meet sustainability and security standards.
