Netskope launches endpoint SD-WAN solution for improved security and user experience
Netskope, a cloud security solution provider, has released the Netskope Endpoint SD-WAN solution that utilizes its SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) system.
Further, the company says it combines SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) and SSE (Security Service Edge) capabilities to deliver improved security and a better user experience for remote workers.
According to Netskope, managing point-based solutions with network and remote access security has posed challenges for organizations, resulting in poor user experience and insufficient security solutions in the context of digital transformation. One reason for this is the limitation of traditional SD-WAN architecture.
The Netskope Endpoint SD-WAN solution addresses these challenges by providing enhanced application security and integrated security that remote workers can access on their laptops, similar to the level of security they would experience in a corporate office without requiring additional hardware.
“Harnessing the power of context-aware SD-WAN, Netskope Endpoint SD-WAN is delivered right to user endpoints, replacing legacy VPN with all of the benefits of SD-WAN and without requiring any hardware appliance. Endpoint SD-WAN helps us provide our customers with consistent visibility, security, and network optimization anywhere their users and devices are,” says Mike Hogenauer, the director of Network at FIS Global.
Compared to VPN technologies, the Netskope Endpoint SD-WAN has an advantage as it collects real-time application visibility and performance data. This helps determine whether the user experience meets acceptable standards. The solution uses collected data to generate a score for each user’s AppX performance. This score allows the administrator to identify possible reasons for issues like network latency, jitter, policy violations or other irregularities.
The Netskope Endpoint SD-WAN platform addresses the limitations of legacy technologies that only use a single tunnel, restricting traffic flow to a single path. With the Endpoint SD-WAN solution, policy-based steering is used to direct traffic to multi-site destinations, resulting in an optimized experience for direct-to-app access.
For two years in a row, Netskope was named a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for security service edge.
