Litmus’ industrial IoT edge platform gets a boost with $30M in Series B funding
Litmus, an industrial IoT edge platform, has successfully raised $30 million in a Series B funding round. With the new influx of funding, the company plans to not only increase sales and marketing efforts but also expand to locations across the EMEA and APAC regions. Belden and other key investors led the funding round.
Litmus’ IoT edge platform provides data collection, analytics, application enablement, and integration for various industries. The increase in total funding from $12.6 million to $42.6 million over the past three years shows that Litmus is a popular platform for Industry 4.0 transformation projects, according to the company.
“Belden is excited to work with Litmus as we continue to expand our edge offerings,” said Oliver Kleineberg, VP and CTO of industrial automation solutions at Belden. “This partnership will empower us to offer a best-in-class platform for unifying operational data so that customers can derive valuable, actionable insights using our solution.”
The Litmus edge data platform is a purpose-built solution for smart factories and manufacturing plants. It connects hundreds of OT assets and provides data insights across the enterprise. Businesses can use machine learning analytics to make mission-critical decisions with the platform, the company says.
The edge platform features containerized application deployment that allows public and private applications access in a centralized repository. The platform provides access to over 45 pre-loaded applications and custom hosting for any other application or model.
“We’ve always been a product-led company, and this investment proves that the product we’ve developed is leading the market in solving OT complexity to capture the data needed to power advanced Industry 4.0 use cases,” said Vatsal Shah, co-founder and CEO of Litmus. “Our investors are validating our technology by coupling it with their offerings to help customers digitally transform, increase efficiency and improve their bottom line.”
Last year, Litmus expanded its strategic collaboration with Google Cloud to create an integrated edge-to-cloud smart factory solution. Litmus’ industrial edge computing platform is now available within Google Cloud’s suite of smart factory solutions as a result of the agreement.
