Kaloom accelerates edge data center networking with $21M from Quebec government and ACG
Kaloom, a provider of edge data center networking solutions, has announced it has successfully secured $21 million in funding from the Quebec government and existing investor ACG to support the business model and technological advancements. The company will use the funds to expand its go-to-market strategy and serve additional remote edge locations.
The latest funding round will also help Kaloom increase its sales and marketing efforts. Customers can now leverage the company’s networking solution for the emerging 5G-edge market. Alternative Capital Group, matched the Quebec government’s funding to support Kaloom’s expansion.
“ACG is proud to support Kaloom’s continued business growth as the company realizes the vision it set out to achieve, “said Nicolas Beauchamp, ACG. “Kaloom’s innovative solutions help network providers overcome the major challenges of Network Transformation and 5G-Edge deployments.”
Beauchamp added, “With Kaloom’s help, network providers can deliver the high-speed, low-latency performance that users demand.” Kaloom has been expanding into the Northeastern region of Asia. For example, Kabloom collaborates with service providers in Japan to provide fully programmable and automated cloud-native solutions.
Kaloom recently partnered with Red Hat to announce the delivery of Unified Edge solution, an edge solution for distributed networks that integrated Red Hat OpenShift with Kaloom’s Unified Edge Fabric. The solution accelerates time to market for new edge services and reduces the total cost of ownership for the edge infrastructure.
“This investment is critical to achieving that mission globally and enabling 5G-Edge and private 5G monetization in our industry,” said Laurent Marchand, founder and CEO of Kaloom.
