Italtel and Nearby Computing partner to advance 5G and edge computing adoption

Italtel, a multinational ICT company and systems integrator, has announced a strategic partnership with Nearby Computing, a specialist in edge-to-cloud automation and orchestration platforms, to accelerate the adoption of 5G solutions, private networks, and edge computing.

Italtel, known for integrating and managing complex network systems, delivers solutions to telecommunications and enterprise sectors around the world. Nearby Computing offers an edge-to-cloud automation and orchestration platform designed to enhance operational efficiency.

Speaking about the partnership, Felix Luna, CEO of Italtel Spain, states: “This partnership is crucial for advancing our capabilities and accelerating the deployment of next-generation 5G and edge computing solutions. We aim to push the boundaries of what’s possible and drive digital transformation for our customers.”

The partnership between Italtel and Nearby Computing focuses on driving digital transformation for businesses, in a bid to enhance operational efficiency, and foster agility through advanced technological solutions. Leveraging 5G and edge computing, the collaboration also aims to enable businesses to automate processes and explore new growth opportunities. Italtel’s existing 5G MPN lab in Madrid and Telco edge computing lab, both orchestrated by NearbyOne, exemplify their commitment to these technologies, the company notes.

According to Gartner, by the end of 2026, 70 percent of large enterprises will have a documented strategy for edge computing, a significant increase from fewer than 10 percent in 2023.

Josep Martí, CEO of Nearby Computing, adds: “Partnering with Italtel allows us to further our vision for the future of telecommunications. Together, we will redefine the 5G and edge computing landscape, enabling businesses to fully exploit these transformative technologies.”

This is not the first of this type of partnership that Nearby Computing has announced this year. The company recently partnered with Kyndryl, a technology services firm, to deliver integrated edge computing services for their clients.
