HPE Aruba pushes AI-driven edge security for IoT in retail amid rising cyber threats

HPE Aruba Networking announced new capabilities for retailers to enhance customer experiences and operational efficiency.

The focus is on secure connectivity and high-performance edge computing for modernizing retail environments.

New products include the HPE Aruba Networking 100 Series Cellular Bridge for resilient WAN access and the CX 8325H switch for compact spaces. The 750 Series wireless access points are designed to secure and process IoT data in real-time for AI applications.

HPE Aruba Networking Central AI Insights optimizes outdoor wi-fi performance and detects unusual IoT behavior for security.

The solutions aim to protect against vulnerabilities in IoT devices, which are often entry points for hackers.

HPE’s networking solutions facilitate easier remote management across various retail locations.

“Retailers facing challenges in warehousing, inventory control, and omnichannel fulfilment need comprehensive and secure connectivity to enable digital modernization and enhance customer experiences,” says Stuart Strickland, wireless chief technology officer, HPE Aruba Networking. “HPE’s networking solutions bring real-time IoT data processing and AI inferencing closer to the source of data generation to fuel omnichannel shopping strategies that increase revenue.”

The expanded IoT operations dashboard allows retailers to utilize third-party applications for enhanced IoT capabilities.

HPE boasts a large IoT partner ecosystem, showcasing various solutions for retail applications at NRF 2025.

HPE in collaboration with Spectro Cloud also recently launched an “Edge in a Box” solution to facilitate enterprise Kubernetes adoption.
