Honeywell, Google Cloud to deliver AI-powered industrial autonomy by 2025
Honeywell and Google Cloud are collaborating to enhance autonomous operations in the industrial sector using AI agents.
The partnership combines Google Cloud’s AI capabilities with Honeywell Forge, an IoT platform, to provide enterprise-wide insights. New AI solutions will be available to Honeywell customers in 2025, aimed at reducing maintenance costs and increasing productivity.
The collaboration addresses labor shortages in the industrial sector by augmenting existing operations rather than replacing jobs.
“The path to autonomy requires assets working harder, people working smarter and processes working more efficiently,” said Vimal Kapur, Chairman and CEO of Honeywell. “By combining Google Cloud‘s AI technology with our deep domain expertise–including valuable data on our Honeywell Forge platform–customers will receive unparalleled, actionable insights bridging the physical and digital worlds to accelerate autonomous operations, a key driver of Honeywell’s growth.”
AI agents will automate tasks, assist technicians with maintenance issues, and enhance cybersecurity through integrated Google Threat Intelligence. Honeywell plans to explore advanced edge AI devices using Google’s Gemini Nano model for various applications.
The integration of AI supports Honeywell’s focus on automation, aviation, and energy transition megatrends.
Both companies aim to drive meaningful business outcomes and empower the industrial workforce through AI technology.
