EdgeNectar collaborates with Arm to enhance converged core network and support 5G Open RAN
EdgeNectar, an AI-driven private 5G and edge compute solutions provider, has announced its support for 5G Open RAN utilizing Arm’s latest technology. Additionally, the company has joined Arm’s ecosystem and 5G solution lab as a partner.
With this development, EdgeNectar’s converged 4G/5G core network now accommodates both 3GPP standardized RAN and Open RAN protocols.
Ken Zhang, co-founder, and CEO of EdgeNectar, emphasizes the significance of this expansion, highlighting the benefits it offers enterprises in terms of flexibility, efficiency, scalability, and simplified deployment.
“EdgeNectar’s use of Arm technology facilitates a compact hardware design, enabling more deployment options in on-site and cloud environments. Our principles of compact design, ease of deployment, and simplified management will remain central to meeting the demands of our enterprise users across many industries as networks continue to evolve,” he adds.
EdgeNectar’s converged core network, powered by Arm’s technology, has several features for enterprise customers which includes compact hardware design, network management, and a deployment process for onsite or the cloud.
According to the company, Arm’s technology allows EdgeNectar to develop compact core network components. This design is for deployments in space-constrained environments and aims to enable easier scaling of network infrastructure without requiring significantly larger physical space.
Virtualization and containerization techniques supported by Arm technology enable resource utilization and simplified management of network functions, according to EdgeNectar. It aims to address the complex requirements of modern telecommunications networks, and support diverse services ranging from high-speed internet access to IoT applications and ultra-reliable, low-latency communications for critical applications, the company notes.
Founded in 2019, EdgeNectar provides end-to-end private 5G and edge computing solutions, supporting hybrid mobile network solutions for both private and public mobile networks such as hospitals, airports, shopping centers and universities.
