Edge Centres expands US edge data center presence with Hyson International acquisition

Edge Centres, an Australia-based edge data center provider, has acquired Hyson International to expand its US operations. Corum Group, a provider of tech trends, valuations, growth strategies and tech M&A services, facilitated the acquisition.

The acquisition of Hyson International by Edge Centres will enable the business to expand its reach into tier 2 and 3 markets in the US.

“We are excited to support this acquisition. Edge Centres is on a mission to provide high-performance and cost-effective edge data center solutions to solve the needs of its thriving local markets,” says William Hill, the SVP of the Corum Group. “This transaction will allow Edge Centres to expand that vision into the US and accelerate its strategy.”

Jonathan Eaves, the founder and CEO of Edge Centres, expressed gratitude for Corum’s assistance throughout the acquisition process. “Working with William and the team at Corum made our first US acquisition a smooth process. The team and I look forward to working with Corum again as we continue our US expansion.”

Last year, DataQube, a startup that builds standalone 5G-ready edge data center platforms, announced that it would actively support Edge Centres with its U.S. expansion plan. The Australian startup announced that it had placed an order for twenty DataQube pods, with plans to purchase more.

According to DataQube, the modular edge data center system has a flexible structure that allows easy installation without requiring significant site changes. The company says that one of the critical features of its design is its ability to scale for edge deployments.
