Edge Centres expands colocation, bare metal offering with QuadraNet acquisition
Edge Centres has expanded its geographical footprint across the United States by acquiring QuadraNet, a colocation and bare metal provider. As part of the acquisition, the company will add ten new facilities across various key locations, including Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New Jersey, Reston, St. Louis, and Seattle.
The edge data center company plans to integrate the QuadraNet platform with the Multacom facility, both of which are based in Los Angeles. This will result in more than 100,000 sq ft of white space in California. Edge Centres says this will boost its capacity to host IT infrastructure in the region.
Kiarash Jahangiri, the CTO at Edge Centres and newly appointed CEO at QuadraNet, told Data Centre Dynamics, “Edge Centres’ bold series of acquisitions made over the last year will now be unified under the QuadraNet brand. Stepping into the role of CEO at one of the fastest growing companies in the US data center and server market is a great privilege.”
The acquisition has a strategic significance because of Edge Centres’ Point of Presence (PoP) located at Coresite’s One Wilshire. This PoP is adjacent to QuadraNet’s Los Angeles data center, ensuring improved network connectivity and service reliability.
QuadraNet, a company founded in 2001 and headquartered in the One Wilshire building in Los Angeles, has over 400 fiber networks that enable high bandwidth and network reliability. It also adheres to SOC II standards, ensuring high security for its clients.
Edge Centres opened a 2MW data center in St. Louis, Missouri, within just six months. Covering 28,000 square feet, this new facility allows Edge Centres to serve an even wider range of clients and industries with its data center services.
