Dell redefines edge computing possibilities with NativeEdge 2.0
Dell Technologies has unveiled Dell NativeEdge 2.0, a software platform designed to streamline, enhance and secure edge operations.
NativeEdge 2.0 offers centralized management for edge infrastructure and applications. Dell notes that enterprises can scale and simplify edge operations with zero-touch deployment and automated strategies.
Dell explains that NativeEdge 2.0 empowers businesses to harness the potential of their data through AI solutions that seamlessly connect the edge to the cloud. This results in streamlined operations that are faster, more straightforward and cost-efficient, the company says.
NativeEdge’s update introduces Blueprint Automation for application orchestration, ensuring consistency in deployment and compliance. According to Dell, pre-validated templates enhance edge solutions for manufacturing and retail industries, boosting performance and reliability.
Additionally, Application Orchestration extends deployment advantages to cover a broader range of endpoints within a company’s infrastructure.
The update also enhances support for diverse edge environments, offering flexibility to adapt to various implementation scenarios. Dell also notes that security features have been strengthened with tools that align with Zero Trust principles, enhancing data and application protection. Security is bolstered through vTPM and UEFI Secure Boot features, essential for enterprise Zero Trust models.
Dell’s NativeEdge 2.0 also expands edge application environments with Windows 11 VM support for enhanced performance. Further, new subscription models with three-year options provide budgeting and economic benefits for long-term planning.
EY and Dell Technologies recently collaborated on an initiative for edge computing solutions, aiming to advance digital transformation with edge ecosystem technologies.
