DataBank’s new bare metal service promises to provide more control and flexibility

DataBank, a provider of enterprise-class colocation, connectivity, and managed services, announced the launch of DataBank Metal, a single-tenant bare metal offering. DataBank Metal offers companies scalable and reliable server deployments in 40 data centers across over 20 U.S. metros, designed to meet the growing demand for edge computing solutions in today’s digital landscape.

With flexible, customizable deployment options and the ability to manage deployments, DataBank says its Metal solution is ideal for companies looking to expand their edge presence without making capital expenditures. The service offers automated orchestration capabilities, enabling organizations to deploy and manage their workloads without restrictions or constraints.

Greg Shamieh, senior product manager for DataBank, commented on the benefits of DataBank Metal, saying: “With its ability to deliver fast deployments, reliable performance and scalability, and edge solutions, DataBank’s bare metal delivers a best-of-all worlds approach capable of delivering significant business value.”

In addition, the company says that bare metal servers allow customers to pay for server space as needed. This means they can get their product out faster without worrying about substantial up-front costs.

DataBank was nominated for a 2022 Global Carrier Award in the Best Data Center and Edge Innovation category this year. The company had significant growth this year, with acquisitions and collaborations in several key markets.

For example, DataBank gained 18 acres of land in Atlanta, Georgia, and an existing data center facility. It recently opened its newest data center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The company partnered with Corsa Security, a firewall virtualization software vendor in Ottawa, to offer managed virtual firewall services. Further, DataBank and Radware recently partnered to provide application delivery solutions and network edge security to prevent DDoS attacks.
