DartPoints introduces new bare metal cloud solution

DartPoints, an edge digital infrastructure provider, has introduced a new cloud solution featuring bare metal servers. According to the company, they can now offer increased security, performance and customization for mid-size markets. The company also says its dedicated servers provide customers with complete control of their IT infrastructure while maintaining the agility of cloud services.

“We’re very excited to offer the type of business value that bare metal can bring to our clients,” stated Brad Alexander, the CTO of DartPoints. “When workloads or applications require extreme security, lightning-fast performance, and predictable overhead, bare metal servers are your best option.”

DartPoints has entered the bare metal market due to a rise in demand for data center services at the edge, driven by increasing data growth and the popularity of hyper-converged technology. Predictions suggest that this sector will experience significant growth over the next decade.

Bare metal allows users to construct, check, launch and manage their workloads on a unified platform, the company says. With no need for a dedicated compute environment to tinker with compute or storage configurations, bare metal offers full control, more powerful processing capabilities and enhanced performance. It is ideal for various use cases, such as computing-intensive workloads, big data analytics and hosting applications with continuous rendering needs.

With single occupancy and physical isolation, bare metal servers offer improved security levels. This feature makes bare metal attractive to organizations with strict regulations, such as financial institutions, legal firms or government entities. From an economic perspective, bare metal also presents an alternative option for many users.

“With our bare metal services, clients can rent server capacity in an ongoing operating expense (OpEx) pricing model,” explains Alexander. “Instead of dealing with heavy capital expenditures, you can gain all the performance and control you need with a steady, predictable overhead to boot.”

DartPoints says it offers secure and redundant data centers, cloud solutions and security services to enterprises and providers. According to the company, they bring the latest technologies to mid-size markets to close the gap between digital accessibility.

Last July, DartPoints was in the news for providing the University of South Carolina with a tailor-made software-defined data center solution for its statewide university system.
