Cradlepoint unveils high-speed 5G router for retail pop-ups and small offices
Cradlepoint, a cloud-delivered 5G and LTE wireless network edge solution provider, has launched the E100 5G enterprise router.
This router is designed for retail and small office applications, providing improved performance and security through Cradlepoint NetCloud Exchange. With integrated SD-WAN and zero trust, it offers 5G SASE capabilities for efficient network and security management at scale.
With low retail vacancy rates in Canada, retailers are turning to creative pop-ups and experiential stores to meet consumer demands for interactive experiences. IT teams must prioritize high performance, low latency and minimal downtime in these situations to provide consistent application support and security policies in small spaces.
The E100 5G Enterprise Router provides reliable connectivity and network protection for retail and small office markets. It enables secure access to web applications and supports the deployment of communications, IoT and point-of-sale devices in small and temporary sites.
According to Donna Johnson, the CMO of Cradlepoint and Ericsson’s head of enterprise wireless solutions marketing, many large enterprises, such as retail and financial services organizations, have historically lacked affordable and accessible connectivity capabilities for smaller locations.
“With market-leading 5G connectivity, zero trust security, SD-WAN and cloud management in a small form factor, IT managers can now scale to distributed locations with confidence — something that is increasingly necessary in the rapidly changing market we see today,” explains Johnson.
Other features of the router include secure zero trust architecture, high availability, integrated 5G modem, and scalable connectivity. It replaces complex VPNs, ensures reliable connectivity, and allows for global management.
Cradlepoint offers 4G and 5G routers and adapters controlled through Cradlepoint NetCloudTM. Cradlepoint says Cellular Intelligence helps businesses and agencies build reliable, secure networks, connecting sites, vehicles, IoT devices and remote employees. Headquartered in Boise, Idaho, Cradlepoint is a subsidiary of Ericsson, operating within their Business Area Enterprise Wireless Solutions.
Last fall, Cradlepoint announced that it revamped its outdoor Cradlepoint W1855-5GC wideband adapter. The W1855 was designed to help enterprises future-proof their connectivity investments when transitioning to standalone (SA) 5G networks.
The outdoor Cradlepoint W1855-5GC wideband adapter offers several features, including wireless WAN networking technology and a purpose-built design that reduces materials and energy consumption compared to previous models.
