Cradlepoint revamps its 5G outdoor adapter for advanced sustainability offerings
Wireless edge solutions provider Cradlepoint has redesigned its outdoor Cradlepoint W1855-5GC wideband adapter.
The company says that the W1855 was created for enterprises to future-proof connectivity investments as they adopt standalone (SA) 5G networks.
Other features of the outdoor Cradlepoint W1855-5GC wideband adapter includes the use of the latest generation of wireless WAN networking, as well as it being purpose-built to require less design materials and operational energy that its predecessors.

According to Gartner, 86 percent of business leaders see sustainability as an investment that protects their organization from disruption. Cradlepoint claims that the W1855-5GC wideband adapter enables the enterprise to guarantee connectivity while furthering sustainability goals.
The refreshed modem features 5G standards with 3GPP Release 16 specifications, with the aim of providing customers with expanded carrier aggregation and band combinations as service providers grow their 5G services, and the W1855-5GC adapter is certified on most first responder networks in the US.
The W1855-5GC Wideband Adapter is 78 percent smaller and 74 percent lighter compared to its predecessor, requiring 30 percent less energy when under load. The company also revealed that the device is concealed with 84 percent less packaging that’s 100 percent plastic free.
Additionally, Cradlepoint NetCloud Manager aims to help IT teams manage the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of each device from centralized locations, in a bid to reduce costly on-site visits.
