Cloudflare, CrowdStrike and Ping Identity to provide free cybersecurity services for critical infrastructure providers
A group of companies providing cybersecurity and authentication services are stepping up to provide free-of-cost cybersecurity services for industries prone to increased cyber-attacks.
Cloudflare, CrowdStrike and Ping Identity announced a new Critical Infrastructure Defense Project to provide help enterprises in the public sector to implement step-by-step security measures to defend themselves from cyberattacks.
For eligible entities, the companies will offer services to enhance defenses against key areas of enterprise risk. The services include:
- Cloudflare, a network security and content delivery company, will provide a full suite of Zero Trust solutions.
- CrowdStrike will provide endpoint protection and threat intelligence services.
- Ping Identity will offer its Zero Trust identity solution, including authentication and SSO services.
The collaboration comes after the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) issued a ‘Shields Up’ advisory to all US businesses in the fear of increased cyberattacks after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The United States has faced cyber-attacks impacting several businesses and citizens, a number of which have been directly or indirectly attributed to Russia. The Sunburst attack led to a large-scale supply chain incident affecting thousands of organizations while the Colonial Pipeline incident resulted in the shutdown of its pipeline for five days. After facing such severe attacks, the Department of Homeland Security is telling organizations to gear up and take adequate measures to deal with the cyber attacks.
“We rely on our infrastructure to power our homes, to provide access to water and basic necessities, and to maintain critical access to healthcare. That’s why it’s more important than ever for the security industry to band together and ensure that our most critical industries are protected and prepared,” said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare. “We are honored to come together with CrowdStrike and Ping Identity during this time of heightened security risk to protect our nation’s most vulnerable infrastructure.”
There is a dedicated website for enterprises to review the Critical Infrastructure Defense checklist that provides easy-to-follow actions for organizations to improve cybersecurity by reaching out through the website to get onboarded.
