ClearBlade brings edge app platform to Rural Cloud with Trilogy Networks partnership
ClearBlade, the industry-leading IoT Edge application software company, today announced it is joining the Rural Cloud Initiative (RCI) founded by Trilogy Networks. RCI is a coalition of rural telecom operators and technology providers committed to promoting and accelerating the digital transformation of rural America. ClearBlade is bringing its Edge Data and Secure IoT capabilities together with Trilogy’s connectivity offerings to advance the “Farm of the Future” across 1.5M square miles of rural America.
Unlike traditional telecom, cellular and cable providers who are focused on delivering edge solutions to major metropolitan areas, Trilogy through their Rural Cloud Initiative takes advantage of a growing rural carrier partner community and their existing infrastructure to meet the growing demands for improving farming with edge computing. These providers support the heart and soul of America’s farm system that supplies millions of people with food to eat every day by delivering turn-key digital solutions to optimize the entire agriculture supply chain.
“Trilogy’s secure, single on-ramp network combined with ClearBlade’s edge application and sensor connectivity capabilities is a powerful combination,” said Eric Simone, co-founder and CEO of ClearBlade. “Their vision for helping rural America implement and adopt digital technology to improve our national farm system is inspiring and heroic. We are pleased to be a key component to improve the output and efficiency of our local natural resources. Technologies like IoT and Edge Data are only buzzwords until they are packaged and put to use in an easily consumable way to solve real-world problems.”
“It’s imperative for these solutions to be rolled out to the rural markets. As an example, for precision agriculture to achieve the maximum potential, it’s imperative the edge be brought directly to the farm operation,” said George Woodward, CEO at Trilogy Networks and board member on the US Precision Agriculture Connectivity Task Force. “Partnering with telecom operators and technology innovators such as ClearBlade will enable the Rural Cloud Initiative to deliver true enterprise value to the edge. Their powerful and automated IoT platform is integral to connecting the millions of devices currently deployed by America’s two million farmers.”
Enterprise automation driven by connected devices requires a robust wireless network to handle the massive amount of data. Traditional network configurations are no longer adequate given issues related to connectivity, latency, security and orchestration. Trilogy disrupts the status quo by designing for environments and supporting natural scale. The company focuses on mission-critical network deployment and performance rather than the underlying infrastructure, network and connectivity to deliver software defined and controlled private LTE networks with compute, network and transport infrastructure at or near their facility. This gives businesses the low latency and network performance required for effective enterprise automation and allows network monitoring and security to be centrally managed in real time with increased anomaly and threat detection using artificial intelligence across the distributed network.
