Ceva and Edge Impulse reshape edge AI development with NPU collaboration

Wireless communications, sensing and edge AI service provider Ceva, Inc. and Edge Impulse have partnered to enhance the development of edge AI applications.

The collaboration focuses on integrating Edge Impulse Platform with Ceva-NeuPro-Nano NPU IP for efficient embedded ML model deployment.

Developers can train and optimize AI models pre-silicon, accelerating time-to-market for AIoT devices. Ceva-NeuPro-Nano NPUs are designed for low power and high performance in various AIoT applications, including wearables and smart home devices.

“We are in the early stages of the Edge AI era, with demand for on-device AI growing across every industry and market segment,” said Chad Lucien, vice president and general manager of the Sensors and Audio Business Unit at Ceva.

Edge Impulse provides ‘no code’ tools, simplifying the deployment and benchmarking of embedded ML applications. The partnership aims to meet the growing demand for on-device AI across multiple industries.

NeuPro-Nano supports AI inference and DSP workloads, ensuring accurate performance emulation for developers. The NPU IP for embedded AI is available for licensing, with Edge Impulse Platform set to be available soon.

Ceva and Edge Impulse aim to empower developers to create innovative AI products more rapidly and efficiently.

Edge Impulse recently unveiled generative AI tools for synthetic data creation on edge devices.
