Armada and Newlab unite to advance edge innovation globally
Edge computing infrastructure company Armada and Newlab, a venture platform for critical technology startups, have partnered to create a global startup ecosystem focused on edge computing and AI applications, addressing challenges in sectors like mobility, energy, and defense.
The collaboration will deploy Armada’s advanced edge computing infrastructure, starting with Detroit in early 2025 and Riyadh later in the year, to support R&D and commercialization.
“This partnership represents a major step towards scaling real-world AI and bridging the digital divide,” says Dan Wright, CEO of Armada. “By combining Armada’s technology platform with Newlab’s unique venture platform, we aim to accelerate the development of cutting-edge solutions that address critical challenges across industries.”
The partnership will enable startups and researchers to validate, de-risk, and scale AI solutions in bandwidth-constrained environments, fostering innovation and early-stage investment.
This initiative aligns with regional goals, such as advancing mobility in Detroit and supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 for economic diversification and innovation.
Last year Armada joined forces with Metaspectral to use edge computing to bring AI analysis to remote regions.
