Arcus launches Portus Data Centers and acquires IPHH Internet Port Hamburg
Arcus Infrastructure Partners has launched Portus Data Centers and acquired IPHH Internet Port Hamburg, a regional data center operator and internet service provider.
Portus now has four edge data center facilities in Hamburg, Munich and Luxembourg. The company says this expansion includes the recent acquisitions of IPHH and European Data Hub (EDH).
Portus Data Centers says it offers enterprise businesses scalable capacity, low latency and dedicated engineering support. It currently provides services to local enterprises, government and other users.
Adriaan Oosthoek, the chairperson of Portus Data Centers notes that the company plans to add further capacity to meet growing customer demand in all its locations.
“We are also seeking to expand our footprint with further locations in the coming months,” Oosthoek adds.
IPHH operates two data centers in Hamburg, providing 2.4MW of sellable IT power capacity. Ongoing development projects will further increase its size and capacity.
Arcus says it invests in projects with a positive ESG impact. IPHH’s data centers use 100% renewable energy and maintain high efficiency.
According to John Shea, a partner at Arcus, IPHH is an exceptional investment opportunity for AEIF3.
“We are greatly looking forward to working with the IPHH team to support its next phase of growth as part of the Portus Data Centers family,” Shea comments.
Hamburg, Germany’s fourth largest data center market, is a connectivity gateway for the north of Germany. Arcus says the demand for regional data center capacity is projected to rise due to IT outsourcing, local managed services providers, IT firms, global technology companies, and content distribution networks.
Arcus received advice from Noerr for legal matters, Arup for technical expertise, BDO for financial and tax aspects and Aon for insurance.
