American Tower building channel for edge data centers; XaaS1 is first master agent
American Tower has announced the debut of a new channel program to support its Edge Data Center solution. The program, developed during a time when demand for infrastructure at the edge is rapidly increasing, allows designated agents to play a key role in helping customers collocate in the six Edge Data Centers in Atlanta, Georgia; Austin, Texas; Boulder, Colorado; Denver, Colorado; Jacksonville, Florida; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
As part of the channel program initiative, American Tower has signed its first master agent agreement to provide exceptional customer service. American Tower and XaaS1, a company with an established history of offering channel services to end users, will work together to bring data center colocation at the edge for improved enterprise network elasticity and optimized low-latency 5G applications.
“With the focus on enterprise network elasticity and network disaster recovery, demand for bandwidth and connection from users at the edge is rising,” says David Fox, Director of Business Development, U.S. Tower Innovation, American Tower. “The strategic location of our Edge Data Centers will help meet this demand. Because of XaaS1’s established relationships, our first master agent agreement will be a great vehicle to extend services to users who need critical data-intensive applications to work quickly and efficiently at the edge.”
American Tower also launched its new Partner Relationship Management (PRM) tool that allows agents to access technical training and marketing resources, register and track prospective customers, and streamline payment and workflow in a single online platform. Designated agents can reach out to customers on behalf of American Tower to provide site information, such as cabinet space, cross-connects, connectivity options and IT support, including remote hands offerings.
